Located on the city side (east) of Darling Harbour, the Sydney Aquarium is best reached by foot from Market Street or King Street.

There you can see gigantic sharks and manta rays swim above your head as you walk in armored plastic tunnels underneath them.

Sydney Aquarium Darling Harbour, you can view the fish and habitat of the Great Barrier Reef up close, before you head north for Queensland to experience the real thing.

There’s a Seal Sanctuary there as well, with two million liters of water from Sydney Harbour. The sanctuary is home to an Australian sea lion and several Australian and New Zealand species of seals. More underwater tunnels allow you to walk under the seals too.

There are penguins, and even crocodiles that you can you view up close at the aquarium. Of course there are fishes of all kinds, shapes and colors; beautiful corals, sea urchins, octopuses and all. It makes a great outing for the whole family; one that is fun and educational at the same time.

Most mornings, there’s a seal feeding at 9:00 am. And, for the other sea creatures, there is an afternoon feeding time at 3:00 pm.

Different animals are fed on different days, so check with Sydney Aquarium Darling Harbour directly on +61 2 8251 7800.
