Travel Insurance Australia
You never know when you're going to be glad you took travel
insurance Australia... after all, you're a long way from home
if anything goes wrong.
Some years ago I ended up in Sydney Hospital, right in
Macquarie Street, next to the NSW Parliament. That old colonial
hospital building was the one my surgeon sent me to with acute
inflammation of the bowel.
I'm Australian and I qualified for free treatment under the
Australian Medicare system. I had private medical insurance,
but chose the public ward because there would be no "gap" fees
to pay.
The man in the bed opposite mine was an American tourist
who'd been struck down with some violent stomach bug. And the
guy had no travel insurance Australia whatsoever.
The tourist's unplanned hospital stay was costing him a lot,
because I remember the guy complaining. He said he could stay
in a private room in a brand new hospital stateside, compared
to being in a public ward in Sydney Hospital, which is about
150 years ancient.
The doctors and staff are absolutely magnificent there,
however!
The moral of the story is: if you're going to travel a long
way from home, do take out a travel insurance policy. It's only
a small extra on top of your airline ticket and taxes. But it
can save you so much grief - especially financial grief - if
things go wrong for you.
You're on holiday for goodness sakes... You want to enjoy
yourself and not be worried about anything being a problem.
Take the travel insurance Australia option when it's offered.
And then be grateful you never get to use it.
