The Chinese Garden

Oriental Tranquility in the Heart of a Busy City

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a haven of quiet green meditative tranquility in the heart of Sydney's hustle and bustle.

A team of expert Chinese gardeners and construction workers was sent over to Sydney especially to build it as a token of friendship between Sydney and Guandong (Canton).

The Chinese Garden employs all the principles of garden design, and Feng Shui layout, dating back 1500 years.

Enter from the Darling Harbour side, through the Courtyard of Welcoming Fragrance and walk around the Lake of Brightness. There you will experience the still serenity of its pavilions, lakes and waterfalls.

Afterwards, you can have your photo taken in authentic Chinese Opera costume and enjoy Jasmine tea and cakes at the traditional Chinese tea house.

Admission costs A$4.50 (us$3.00) or twice that for a family. Phone (02) 9282-6863 for further information.
