Sydney
Why I Love This Amazing
Place
Sydney is a city with a wonderful harbour,
fantastic weather, a great lifestyle and a standard of living
that makes most other countries envious.
There are more jobs and opportunities here in Sydney than in
any other part of Australia I know of. (Melbourne in Victoria
would be a close second, but it's weather is colder and more
rainy. I like it here.
The only down side in Sydney might be the rising price of real
estate, but whether that's good or bad depends on if you're
buying or selling.
Certainly, if you are looking to buy a home, then you'll get
much more for your money in Brisbane, Perth or Tasmania. But
your work opportunities there will be far, far lower.
Self employed? Well maybe it would work for you. It depends on
your line of work. But why would you want to live outside
Sydney?
I like living close to Sydney itself, rather than being out in
the suburbs. By being close to the city I can drive to the city
centre in 15 or 20 minutes. I can visit any of the great
department stores such as David Jones or Grace Brothers off
Pitt Street.
I can browse through the Pitt Street shopping malls, in the
heart of the city or chill out in Hyde Park, near the war
memorial the centre of Sydney, between Elizabeth and College
Streets.
Crime and violence is pretty low out here, and my chances of
being shot or stabbed in a robbery are about as likely as my
winning the lottery (and I haven't bought a ticket!
I can be at my main workplace in half an hour. I can hit great
cheap restaurants or coffee shops in King Street, Newtown, or I
can enjoy a concert at the world's most famous Opera House or a movie at Hoyts in George
Street.
And if i want to see something less mainstream, there are the
wonderful Dendy cinemas in Newtown or Circular Quay.
Other boutique cinemas around the Sydney area include the
Valhalla in Glebe Point Road, Glebe ( a great street for
restaurants, by the way).
Yes. I just love this place, more than anywhere else I know in
the world.
