Taronga Park Zoo
A perfect all-day
excursionSydney Zoo, known locally as
Taronga Park Zoo, features exotic Australian animals,
such as the Platypus, Kangaroo, Wallaby, Emu, Dingo, Wombat and
Koala.
Taronga Park Zoo has native Australian birds, all kinds
of reptiles, highly venomous Australian snakes and deadly
Australian spiders.
But it's not just Aussie animals at Sydney's Taronga Park Zoo.
The Sydney Zoo has more than 2,000 different creatures from
around the the globe,
All the enclosures at Taronga Park Zoo have been made to
imitate the natural environment of the animals on display. Not
only does this give the creatures greater freedom, but you get
to experience them in something very close to to their natural
habitat in the wild.
Taronga Park Zoo, (Sydney Zoo), is at Bradleys Head Road,
Mosman. That's a suburb on the north side of Sydney Harbour.
The best way to get to Taronga Park Zoo is by ferry from Wharf
2 at Circular Quay, Sydney. The trip takes less than 15
minutes.
You can also get to/from the Sydney Zoo at Taronga Park by
public bus from Wynyard bus terminus in York Street. The bus
stops right outside the Zoo's main gate.
You can go by automobile to Taronga Park Zoo as well, but
you'll have to pay extra for parking. It has room there for 500
cars.
Sydney (Taronga Park) Zoo is open every day between 9am and
7pm, including Christmas Day. The Zoo has wheelchair hire for
disabled visitors. It also has stroller hire, information
sheets for non-English speakers, hot and cold food outlets and
