Shopping in Sydney
Sydney Australia's Malls
Some of the most boutique shopping malls are in the heart of central business district (the CBD) in Sydney, while Westfield seems to have a large shopping mall complex in every large suburb in Sydney, with more modest premises in many towns across New South Wales.
In Sydney Australia malls are called Shopping Centres (we spell 'center' the British way).
There are several upmarket shopping malls in the Sydney CBD and close to The Rocks and Circular Quay. And then there is the one and only Queen Victoria Building, the 'QVB', close to Sydney's Town Hall.
Other great shopping centres in the heart of Sydney would include the Pitt Street Mall (between Market Street and King Street) and the Piccadilly Arcade (which runs between Pitt Street and George Street, and the new World Tower Square (between Pitt and George Streets, and Liverpool and Goulburn Streets, at the Chinatown end of the CBD).
You'll find the Shopping Centres are very similar to those at home. Almost all Australian malls will include a Food Hall, with a wide variety of cuisines on offer - not just fast food. And the larger, newer Sydney Australia malls have built-in cinema complexes as well.
Also, we are starting to see more medical centres, where it is common practice to ask for the first-available medical doctor (MD) or general practitioner (GP).
